Any question
Backup is a one-way replication of files: from source to destination. It does not delete target files. It replaces target files with source files and adds missing files.
Mirroring also performs one-way replication of files: from source to destination. It does delete files that are only present in the destination. Just like backup, it replaces destination files with source files and adds missing files to the destination.
So, mirroring and backup are the same, except that you only have the destination files, which means you only have the backup. These are all deleted. For example, you are copying files from your computer (source) to the cloud (destination). You delete a file from your computer (source), such as a document. The same file is already in the cloud (your destination), for example, if you ran a backup or mirroring before the deletion, so the file has already been copied. If you have a backup configuration file, then when you run it again, it will not delete the file from the cloud. However, if you have a mirroring configuration file, it will delete the file from the cloud.
Synchronization copies files in both directions: from source to destination and from destination to source. Smart synchronization can copy files in both directions and also record the history of files at the last synchronization. This allows for more granular control over the actions to be taken based on changes, while also detecting changes such as files being modified only on the source or destination.
It is recommended to use smart synchronization instead of "legacy" synchronization, but please note that SyncBackFree does not support smart synchronization.
